These two meet at a bar and instantly have an attraction. OMG, Sarah Andersen has another comic? How did I miss this one? How could I miss it? It features her great art and a werewolf and a vampire dating and all that comes with that. I was just flailing around when I saw this book on Netgalley. I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review. It's silly, lighthearted, amusing, cute, and just plain fun-I personally prefer the semi-autobiographical SARAH'S SCRIBBLES, but these can be just as relatable and tender: FANGS essentially consists of twisty little romantic comedy portraits about two people who are great for each other despite their fundamental differences. Most of the humor and sweetness is due to how Andersen plays different vampire and werewolf myths against each other, exploring how that would impact dating life, as well as how the two characters, Elsie and Jimmy, handle their differences.

The two works have Andersen's signature humor and wholesomeness and a lack of coloring in common, but that's about it: FANGS is a little more PG-13, there is less social awkwardness, and the art style is less cartoonish, with a slight manga quality. As such, there is more of a narrative thread than in the SARAH'S SCRIBBLES collections, but the comics are still very much situational vignettes. Penned by Sarah Andersen, the artist behind the popular SARAH'S SCRIBBLES, FANGS is the story of a three-hundred-year old vampire in the body of a 26-year-old goth girl who falls in love with a charming werewolf she meets at a bar one night. Filled with Sarah Andersen’s beautiful gothic illustrations and relatable relationship humor, Fangs has all the makings of a cult classic.

This deluxe hardcover edition of Fangs features an “engraved” red cloth cover, dyed black page trim, and 25 exclusive comics not previously seen online.

This all changes one night in a bar when she meets Jimmy, a charming werewolf with a wry sense of humor and a fondness for running wild during the full moon. Together they enjoy horror films and scary novels, shady strolls, fine dining (though never with garlic), and a genuine fondness for each other’s unusual habits, macabre lifestyles, and monstrous appetites.įirst featured as a webcomic series on Tapas, Fangs chronicles the humor, sweetness, and awkwardness of meeting someone perfectly suited to you but also vastly different. A New York Times bestselling love story between a vampire and a werewolf by the creator of the enormously popular Sarah's Scribbles comics.Įlsie the vampire is three hundred years old, but in all that time, she has never met her match.
